3. What is the judging process for the E Week India Awards?

The E Week India Awards judging process will comprise the following three steps:
I. A selection of shortlist based on authenticated information from the institutes
II. An audit of activities organized by shortlisted institutes
III. Final selection of winners from the shortlist
a. Selection of shortlist based on authenticated information from institutes:

A shortlist of 45 contenders for the E Week India 2011 Awards will be put together by the NEN Trust team using the information submitted by each participating member academic institute.

The shortlist is created based on:
• Number of planned events
• Target number of people to be reached as part of the planned events
• Quality of the events / depth of the activities
• Relevance for entrepreneurship
• Relevance for the E Week India theme: Ideas for India

b. Audit of activities organized by shortlisted institutes:

First and foremost, auditors from the NEN Trust team will be looking to ascertain if you are actually executing your events and activities as per your submitted plans.

In addition, they will also be considering the following:
• ‘Excitement’ or ‘energy’ on campus: there is general vibrancy around campus with lots of things happening; clear presence of E Week branding with extensive & creative use of materials; large scale participation in any given event or program; general awareness amongst students, management and faculty about entrepreneurship.

• Awareness off campus: the campaign has created large scale awareness off campus about E Week and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the program has meaningfully engaged stakeholders - directly involved the public in awareness campaigns including pledge ceremony, discussions and other activities.

• High quality of programs: this is reflected in content and delivery of the program to inspire, inform and educate; and in how well the program is organized. High quality is an outcome of thoughtful and systematic work and advance planning. Programs with higher speaker and teaching content; and first hand entrepreneurial experience generally result in higher learning and are desirable.

How the audit will be conducted:

On-ground verification: An NEN Trust team member will visit each campus on the shortlist for E Week India Awards to verify the on-ground ‘buzz’ and ‘energy’ in addition to developing a clear sense of the quality of the programs run by you.

The audit team member will use your submitted schedule of activities to decide best times to visit. The visits will be unannounced and during the visit the audit team member may choose to do one or all of the following:
a) Meet with the management
b) Look around the campus
c) Interact with the students
d) Interact with members of the audience of a specific program

Phone audits: In addition to the ‘on-ground audit,’ one or more audit team member/s will verify the happenings on campus and information related to sponsorships etc. through phone conversations with participating speakers or sponsors or any of the organizing team members including E Leaders and Faculty leaders.

Please note: contact info of all speakers, sponsor contacts and organizers is required if you are competing for the Awards

C. Final selection of the winners from the shortlist:

The audited information will be presented to the E Week India 2011 panel of judges, which will then pick the winners of the E Week India 2011 Awards. The panel will include senior NEN Trust team members and entrepreneurs from the community.
